17 June 2011 After School at the ‘K-Pop Heal the World’ Fan Meet and Greet
What’s better than seeing your favourite K-pop idol perform on stage? Well, seeing them up close and winning exclusive autographed merchandise of course! A select few had the rare opportunity to attend a pre-concert meet-and-greet, which featured the girls from Afterschool and Orange Caramel, as well as the guys from MBLAQ.
On June 4, 2011, on the other side of EXPO’s Max Pavilion, where long lines of fans were already queuing to get into the concert hall, a small group of fans waited in a room, their presents for their idols ready and their hearts brimming with excitement.
Afterschool and Orange Caramel came on stage first, to the delight of the excited fans. Dressed in a body-hugging glittery-gold number, the girls spoke to the fans in Korean via an interpreter. After posing for pictures and waving their goodbyes, the girl band headed backstage to prepare for the much-anticipated concert — K-pop: Heal the World. MBLAQ appeared shortly after, greeting the fans and posing on stage before rushing to prepare for their segment.
The emcee then entertained the fans with a game segment, where lucky fans walked back to their seats with autographed CDs and other exclusive merchandise from their favourite stars. Fans danced, sang, shouted out their idols’ names and even played Scissors, Paper, Stone with fellow fans just to get a shot at winning the prizes. However, the emcee made sure no one walked away empty-handed.
